Quantum Group Inc.’s (hereafter Quantum) mission is to provide false alarm free carbon monoxide alarms and CO/smoke/heat combination detectors that exceed our customer requirements and keep families safe from the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Quantum researches, develops, manufactures and sells CO alarms, CO detectors, CO/smoke/heat detectors, CO ventilation controls, catalysts and visual detectors. Originally we licensed our technology to large CO detector manufacturers, and supplied CO sensors to licensed manufacturers. Today we are a world leader in biotechnology based carbon monoxide sensors, alarms, controls and catalysts.
We are also a volume supplier of carbon monoxide detectors and controls for several niche markets, and we supplied over 35% of the CO alarms annually purchased by recreational vehicle manufacturers over the past 10 years. We have developed a new and improved small, low-cost CO sensor, which meets the needs of rapidly expanding CO alarm markets, especially when it comes to combination alarms for CO/smoke and CO/smoke/heat. In the future, we plan to focus on larger buildings where people sleep, such as dormitories, hotels, hospitals, apartments and condominiums.

Quantum Group was founded in 1982. Quantum operated as a forensic consulting and sales rep company during the 1980s investing its profits into the development of carbon monoxide sensors, alarms and safety systems.
|1987||Quantum enters the carbon monoxide ventilation control market using a metal oxide sensor made by Figaro of Japan in 1987 using its patent pending methodology.|
|1990||Quantum enters the recreational vehicle (RV) CO alarm market using its newly developed solid-state biotechnology based sensor, which is monitored with infrared optics.|
|1993||Quantum expanded into the consumer market through a license agreement with First Alert. Quantum made sensors for First Alert exclusively for several years; First Alert marketed various single-station CO alarms to the retail and contractor (new construction) markets.|
|1996||Agreement exclusivity with First Alert expires at the end of 1996. Since then Quantum Group has broadened its customer base in the retail market through a number of non-exclusive relationships, including Honeywell, USI, Invensys, MasterGuard, and others. We also are private labeling for Napco and Potter both security OEMs.|
|1998-2007||The Company continues to broaden its product line and markets by entering the security system detector market in 1998, the 12-volt CO alarm RV market in 2003, the 12-volt marine CO alarm market in 2004, the 24-volt commercial systems market in 2005 and the retail market in 2007.|
|2010||In 2010 Quantum introduces the MicroSIR technology to Japan in a pocket-size alarm called the COSTAR® P1.|
